Spending the night camping out in the forest takes place at the Pachmarhi Sanctuary (situated within the Satpura Tiger Reserve), which is currently the only park in India that allows camping in the forest.
You would typically leave your lodge after lunch and arrive at your camping spot a few hours before sunset. You can sit back and enjoy a sundowner from the mobile bar or take a guided walk into the forest to understand the landscape and read the signs of the wildlife all around you.
Later in the evening you’ll gather around the campfire, star gaze and swop stories from the bush while your hot dinner is being cooked. When you’re ready for bed, you can duck into your canvas tent and tuck yourself into your comfy twin bed.
Every tent gets a mobile bathroom with a dry toilet and a bag shower with water drawn from the nearby stream upon request, if you wish to take a hot/cold shower in the morning. Hot breakfast will be served in the morning after which the team will pack up and you’ll all depart, without leaving a trace behind.
